American Legacy: Our National Parks--On-Location with the Plein-Air Painters of America
This exciting exhibition is literally in the works as 32 PAPA members and six guest artists explore National Park Service sites across the United States. Each artist has selected a park that has personal meaning. Among them are landscapes that are literally in the artists' backyards: Acadia National Park is nearby Don Demers' home in Eliot, Maine. Rocky Mountain National Park is just north of Skip Whitcomb's home in Fort Collins, Colorado. Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument is found a short drive south of George Strickland's Tucson, Arizona, residence, and Great Basin National Park is a location Silver City, Nevada, resident Jean LeGassick has hiked into for many years.
