American Legacy--Our National Parks
PAPA's 22nd Exhibition and Sale is on view  at the R.W. Norton Art Gallery, Shreveport, LA, through February 12, 2012.  On March 8, 2012, it opens at the Booth Western Art Museum, Cartersville, GA. Future venues may be viewed in the Press Room.  To view the entire exhibition, please go to The Haggin Museum web site, which organized the exhibit. A 92-page color catalog illustrates all the artworks from 35 National Park Service units/artists, including a historical essay by Jean Stern, Executive Director of the Irvine Museum. IN PRINT
Lynn Gertenbach is included in a group article on Impressions of France (see below) in the February 2012 issue of American Art Collector.
The February/March 2012 issue of PleinAir includes a cover story on Ken Auster, an article on Jerry Fritzler, and coverage of the Chioggia, Italy, painting trip that Kenn Backhaus, Joan LaRue and Jean Perry took in the fall of 2011.

30TH ANNIVERSARY
Ron Rencher is part of the 30th anniversary celebration at  Greenhouse Gallery, San Antonio, TX, February 1-24, 2012. The exhibit opens with a champagne reception from 5-8 pm, Friday, February 3, and an open house from 10 am to 6 pm on February 4, during which Rencher is part of a panel discussion. Included in the exhibition are several his works, viewable on PAPA's Facebook page, including Morning Dance, oil, 11x14 (right).

NATIVE SON
West Fraser is part of a special exhibition titled Wine, Cheese, Art and Jewels on February 9, 2012, at Helena Fox Fine Art, Charleston, SC. He is also the subject of a solo exhibition of works at the Telfair Museums, Savannah, GA, titled "A Native Son: Paintings by West Fraser," which is on view February 24 to May 5, 2012. KINNEY ANNOUNCES WINTER 2012 EXHIBITION SCHEDULE
Raleigh Kinney announced that he will be showing his work at the 2nd Annual Wigwam Festival of Fine Art, Litchfield Park, AZ, on February 10-12, 2012; the Southwest Inspirations Show at the Sedona Art Center, AZ, on February 16-26, 2012, with a reception on February 17 from 4-8 pm, and the Carefree Art & Wine Festival, AZ, on  March 3-4, 2012. CONTEMPORARY TWIST

MAUI PLEIN AIR
Ken Auster and Ray Roberts are participating in the Maui Plein Air Invitational exhibition February 18-25, 2012, where they are also teaching workshops.

IMPRESSIONS OF FRANCE
Lynn Gertenbach is participating in a group show at Segil Fine Art, Old Town Monrovia, CA, with paintings of French life, through February 21, 2012.

SAVING PARADISE
The California Art Club is sponsoring an exhibition at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, March 8 through May 6, 2012. Saving Paradise: The Symbiosis of Landscape Painting and Environmental Awareness includes PAPA members Peter Adams, John Budicin, John Cosby, Gil Dellinger, and Lynn Gertenbach. GILCREASE RENDEZVOUS
Matt Smith is featured in the Gilcrease Rendezvous Reunion, April 12-14, 2012, at the Gilcrease Museum, Tulsa, OK. The evening with the artists and art sale take place Friday, April 13.

PleinAir Magazine presents the 1st Annual Plein Air Convention & Expo on April 12-15, 2012, in Las Vegas, NV. PAPA members who will be speaking or demonstrating include: Peter Adams, Ken Auster, Kenn Backhaus, Gil Dellinger, Jean LeGassick,  Ned Mueller, and Matt Smith.

 GIVING BACK
Joan LaRue is donating a work to the Howell Gallery's fundraiser for the YWCA Oklahoma City capital campaign to build a new emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence. The fundraiser opens May 4, 2012.
