On Location with the Plein Air Painters of America goes on view in the Artspace Gallery at the Art Association of Jackson Hole, August 27 through September 6, 2010. Fifty plein-air paintings by PAPA Signature Members will be for sale. A reception starting at 5:30 pm takes place on Friday, September 3. American Legacy: Our National Parks begins traveling this fall under the auspices of Smith Kramer Exhibition Services. To view the schedule, please go to the Press Room. More than 100 paintings by 35 PAPA Members and Guest Artists document parks stretching from coast to coast and border to border. Paintings in the exhibition are found on each member's web page under the heading American Legacy. 

Ray Robert's Vermilion Cliffs (left), which is found along the Old Spanish National Historic Trail, is a part of the exhibition. All of the artworks are for sale. The entire exhibition is viewable at The Haggin website, with prices. A 92-page color catalog illustrates all the artworks in the exhibition ($20). Learn about the unique qualities that brought the sites into the National Park system and each artist's experiences in painting their chosen park. An essay by Jean Stern, executive director of the Irvine Museum, provides a historical overview of artists whose paintings persuaded Congress to preserve these landscapes of exceptional drama and beauty.
